Ceud mìle fàilte bho Gheamannan Gàidhealach Maine agus Fèis na h-Alba

(One hundred thousand welcomes from the Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival)

2019 is upon us, and it’s time to register your clan for the 41st Annual Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival. We are going to be holding our event on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Topsham Fairgrounds in Topsham, Maine. Like good frugal Scots lads and lassies, we like to get the most for our hard earned money, so the festivities will actually start Friday night, August 16th, at 6:30 pm at our annual, open to the public, and
FREE Cèilidh. (although donations are encouraged) There’s nothing like a two-for-the-price-of-one deal to warm any Caledonian heart, aside from a wee bit o’ whisky.

Going forward, I want to take a quick moment to “step back” and thank Clan MacBean (McBain) for being the Honored Clan for 2018. We enjoyed having them with us, and are hopeful they will be joining us in 2019 as well.

are proud to announce

Donnachaidh

as o
ur 2019 Honored Clan

Clan Donnachaidh is one of the earliest clans mentioned in recorded Scots history, dating back to the uniting of the Scots and the Picts in 834 AD. I’ve saved a couple of documents at the bottom of this page. Click on them to download the PDF’s for the Save-The-Date flyer, as well as a Clan History Summary. There’s a lot of fascinating historical information about Clan Donnachaidh in them. Also, click the link to the registration form, and sign up your clan to participate in 2019.

Each clan package costs $50 for 2019 and includes one (16′ x 16′) clan tent site, a parking pass, 1 clan t-shirt, 2 games tickets (adult or child use), 1 clan ribbon, and 1 parking pass. As in the past, a clan can select a double site, which would be 16′ x 32′. I’m working on having an alternate method to the actual tickets, as most times the clans are in the Fairgrounds and registered, days before the event. We’ll also be having our 3rd Annual Best Clan Tent competition. Check out the attached flyer for that, and see if your clan is up to the challenge of being the best.

More to follow soon, and I hope to see you at the 41st Annual Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival.
